A Craft Beer Crawl Through Kingsland & Morningside
Kingsland and its neighbours have quietly become Auckland's best strip for craft beer. Here's a suggested route hitting five of the best spots.
Kingsland has long punched above its weight for food and drink, and the craft beer scene here is no exception. Within a short walk you can hit several excellent taprooms — here’s a route worth doing.
The Route
The Beer Spot on New North Road is a good place to start. They have 40 beers on tap and a food truck that changes weekly.
Then head over the road to Urbanaut Brewery and Taproom, for some of the best beer in Auckland. I particularly love their Jaco which is only 2.5% but full of flavour. Their smash burgers are also excellent!
Saint Leonards Brewing is a bit of a hidden gem — a lively spot with their own beers brewed on-site and a sunny outdoor area.
Garage Project Taproom & Cellar Door Kingsland is the Auckland home of the beloved Wellington brewery. It’s more of a cellar door with tastings than a pub or bar, but it’s worth a visit if you’re not from Wellington.
Finish up at Churly’s Brewpub & Eatery in nearby Mount Eden. The home of Behemoth Brewing, with food to soak up everything you’ve sampled along the way.
Then if you’re still hungry, Eden Noodles is just a few doors down!
